Woman arrested in Florida awaits extradition to Grant County for role in fatal crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A woman arrested in Florida is being extradited to Indiana for her role in a fatal crash. According to a Facebook post from the Grant County Sheriff's Office (GCSO), Adria Wilkerson, 31, was arrested on Tuesday evening by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office in Venice, Florida, on a warrant for Reckless Homicide, issued by the GCSO. Wilkerson is being held in Florida and awaits extradition back to Indiana. The arrest comes as a result of the investigation led by the Grant County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team following a head-on crash that took the life of a Marion woman, which occurred on October 1, 2025. A black BMW was heading westbound on SR 18 in front of Oak Hill High School when it crossed the centerline, hitting a white Chevrolet head-on, according to police. Witnesses told police the BMW was traveling “very erratic and reckless just prior to the crash.” Vicki Colley was extracted from her car after the crash and taken to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The GSCO wrote in their post, "The Grant County Sheriff’s Office extends its continued condolences to the family and loved ones of Vicki Colley." Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
