‘We should have had a lot more time together’: Wife mourns husband killed in motorcycle vs. semi crash in Herriman
HERRIMAN, Utah (ABC4) — A family is grieving the loss of their husband and father after a fatal collision with a semi-truck took his life. Family has identified Enrique Garcia as the motorcyclist who died in a fatal collision with a semi-truck in Herriman on Monday. Enrique's wife, Kristin, spoke to ABC4.com on Thursday, saying that she is doing her best to "put one foot in front of the other." "I have a 7-year-old daughter who is the reason that I am getting up every morning," Kristin said. "My husband, we were his whole world." "I am not sure how we are going to do this without him, but we are going to figure it out," she added. One of Enrique's life goals was to see Bigfoot at least once in his life, according to Kristin. "He was kind of a big kid at heart." Enrique was a strong person who poured himself into everything that he did, but when he was home, Kristin said that he was "very present." "He really showed us every day how much he loved us," she said. Kristin said that they wake up every day, making a valiant effort to survive and honor Enrique's memory. "He was really our rock," she said. 'He was my rock." "He touched a lot of people," she said. "He was really kind and giving, and that is why I love him." As Kristin and her daughter move forward, Kristin said that they are going to miss Enrique every day. "There is a big whole in our hearts that will never be filled," she said. "I am going to do my best to honor his memory and make sure that my daughter remembers him." 'We should have had a lot more time together, and it is really not fair." Friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe in an effort to alleviate funeral expenses and help keep Kristin and her daughter's lives afloat. Kristin said that the support that she has received has been touching. "When I heard the news, they came over right away," she said. "They are constantly checking on me to make sure that I am okay. I don't think that I could get out of bed everyday if I didn't have their support. It really has been the most incredible thing." Alexa McFadden contributed to this reporting.
