I-89 closed in Berlin after crash
BERLIN, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - According to Vermont transportation officials, I-89 is completely closed to traffic southbound Thursday evening. The closure reportedly follows a "major crash" near Exit 6. Exit 6 is within the town limits of Berlin, though it is used to get to South Barre. Montpelier police report that the highway is closed all the way up at Exit 7. Crews are reportedly responding to the scene and anyone traveling south is advised to exit at Exit 7 and detour to Exit 5 in Williamstown, such as via Vermont Route 62, South Main Street to VT-14, and VT-64.
