Waterloo woman dies after falling from moving car in Black Hawk County
A 22-year-old Waterloo woman died after falling from a moving vehicle Saturday evening in Black Hawk County. According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called around 7:10 p.m. on July 4 to the 8000 block of Ansborough Avenue after a 911 caller reported a single-vehicle incident. Investigators say a silver 2019 Toyota Camry was traveling south on Ansborough Avenue when a passenger fell from the vehicle onto the roadway. The passenger was identified as Tejanna Hatt, 22, of Waterloo. Hatt was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate what led up to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office at 319-291-2587. The Iowa State Patrol, Hudson Fire Department and Ambulance, and Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch assisted at the scene.
