WATERBURY — A family friend of the 18-year-old killed in a motor vehicle crash in Waterbury on Sunday is raising money to send his remains home to his parents. Luis Cisneros died in a two-car crash on Chase Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, according to Waterbury police Sgt. Joseph Morais. Cisneros was a passenger in a Mazda that collided with a Subaru. The crash injured five others, three in the Subaru who suffered non life-threatening injuries and two in the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda suffered life-threatening injuries and another passenger suffered non life-threatening injuries, police said. The crash is being investigated by the department's Crash Reconstruction Unit, Morais said. The GoFundMe page described Cisneros as a "kind and sweet boy." His aunt in Waterbury is looking to raise money to send his remains back home to Guatemala. "His parents are waiting for him to say their final goodbyes and to be able to lay him to rest in his homeland," the fundraiser said.
