VSP: Teen killed in crash on I-81 in Roanoke County
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A 19-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the early hours of July 5 on I-81, according to Virginia State Police. (VSP) State police say the crash happened around 2:00 a.m. on Interstate 81, southbound, one mile north of Wildwood Road in Roanoke County. A 2009 Pontiac G5 coupe was stopped on the right side of the interstate when the car was hit by a 2018 Ford F-350 truck, according to VSP. The driver of the Pontiac is identified by VSP as 19-year-old Tyler Cole Williams, of Vinton, Va. Police say Williams was taken to Lewis Gale Medical Center where he later died. VSP continues to investigate this crash.
