Victims identified, driver arrested after southwest OKC hit-and-run leaves 2 dead
Police arrested a driver accused of leaving the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle that killed two people Thursday in southwest Oklahoma City. The crash happened around 6 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Southwest 44th Street and Robinson Avenue. Police learned that a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped at the intersection, and the driver yielding at a yellow light until he felt it was safe. A probable cause affidavit states that the driver then started going through the intersection when a fast-moving motorcycle crashed into the bed of the pickup truck. The person driving the motorcycle and the passenger were killed. Police identified the victims as Eric Kennedy, 46, and Laura Estrada, 41. The suspect briefly stopped north of the intersection before leaving the scene and going home, according to the affidavit. He was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving a fatality and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. KOCO 5 has chosen not to release the suspect's name because formal charges have not been filed.
