Victim in fatal accident on N General Bruce Drive identified
TEMPLE, Texas (FOX 44) - The victim in the fatal Temple traffic accident on N General Bruce Drive has been identified. The Temple Police Department has identified the deceased as 28-year-old Leyton Hernandez. Police originally reported on Friday that the department was investigating a traffic accident which resulted in Hernandez dead and another individual injured. Officers were dispatched to the area of the 6300 block of N General Bruce Drive around 2:01 p.m. Friday in response to a traffic accident. When they arrived, they discovered one vehicle ran the stop sign at N General Bruce Drive and Hart Road, which caused a collision in the intersection, resulting in a rollover accident. A preliminary investigation suggests the first vehicle collided with the second vehicle after failing to stop at a stop sign. Hernandez was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival. Another individual was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The department's Traffic Unit was on scene investigating. Police say this case is under investigation.
