Venango County man held for court on fatal Feb. DUI crash charges
(WJET/WFXP)-- The Venango County man accused of being under the influence during a fatal crash in Sugarcreek Borough appeared in court and had all charges, including new ones, held over for court. According to court documents, 39-year-old Ian Haux of Pleasantville appeared for his preliminary hearing with prosecutors adding an additional homicide by vehicle charge since his arrest on February 10. Haux is being charged with one count each of felony homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, along with misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter, DUI, DUI of a schedule 2 or 3 controlled substance and a summary traffic charge. All of those charges were held over to court. According to Pennsylvania State Police Franklin, the crash happened around 3:41 Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Gibb Road and Allegheny Boulevard involving a sedan, driven by Frawley, and an SUV driven by Haux. Police said Haux drove through a steady red light at the intersection as the Frawley entered it from a nearby parking lot, causing the collision. Frawley had to be flown to UPMC Hamot, where she was later pronounced dead. Haux remains in the Venango County Jail without bond. His case now heads to the Court of Common Pleas.
