Vehicle collides with Carol House Pet Clinic, impacting three service vehicles
Early on Saturday morning, a car collided with the Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic in south St. Louis, causing extensive damage and disrupting vital services. The crash resulted in a large hole in the clinic's brick exterior, affecting the community cat room, and damaging three vehicles used for community outreach and pet transportation. At the time, nine cats were in the clinic's recovery room for community cats. Veterinary staff are currently assessing the cats' medical conditions and providing necessary care. The Carol House Pet Clinic, located in St. Louis' Lafayette Square neighborhood, offers spay and neuter surgeries, preventive veterinary care, and a Trap-Neuter-Return program to address pet overpopulation and promote animal health. The clinic also provides support for families with limited access to veterinary services. Wendy Heckman, Executive Director of Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic, expressed concerns that the crash will delay care for pets in need and create additional obstacles for families already facing challenges. While no serious injuries were reported, the clinic now must address unforeseen expenses to repair the facility and replace the damaged vehicles. Those interested in assisting with the recovery efforts can find more information here.
