VBPD: Norfolk man arrested after bicycle-involved crash on Lynnhaven Parkway

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a bicycle-involved crash Wednesday night on Lynnhaven Parkway that seriously injured a juvenile male, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department. Emergency Communications and Citizen Services received a report of a possible crash involving a bicyclist in the 2000 block of Lynnhaven Parkway at approximately 9:45 p.m. VBPD and Emergency Medical Services found a bicyclist, a juvenile male, with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police said no other vehicles and drivers were found on scene. Police arrested Josiah Johnson-Owens of Norfolk into custody. He is charged with hit and run resulting in serious injury. He is being held at Virginia Beach City Jail without bond. 10 On Your Side has reached out to confirm the bicyclist's age.
