UPDATE: I-81 North reopens after double tractor-trailer crash causes 100+ gallon fuel leak
UPDATE: I-81 North has reopened after double tractor-trailer crash closed the road for hours on Thursday evening according to PennDOT. A portion of I-81 North was closed after two tractor-trailers collided. A PennDOT spokesperson confirmed the interstate is closed at Exit 59, and the ramp from Route 581 West and 81 North is also closed. One tractor-trailer jack knifed another tractor-trailer around 5:15 p.m., PennDOT said. Crews are working to clear "at least" 100 gallons of diesel fuel that were spilled from the crash. Pennsylvania State Police requested a PennDOT sand truck to help with the spill. No injuries have been reported.
