UPDATE: Fatal crash on S.R. 63 closes down road
UPDATE — Sheriff Derek Fell has confirmed the accident has resulted in three fatalities. Fell said, “Dispatch received a call for a motor vehicle accident here on state road 63. Our units responded, and once they did, they observed a truck and a passenger car, what appears to be a head on collision. One vehicle traveling southbound, one vehicle traveling northbound. Unfortunately, there are three fatalities involved in this accident. There were no other occupants of either vehicle.” TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A fatal accident on South State Road 63 and West Durham Drive has shut down portions of the road, according to Vigo County Sheriff's Office. Officials ask you to avoid the area. "Please avoid State Road 63 between Springhill and Johnson due to a fatality accident. The roadway will be closed for several hours," Said the Vigo County sheriff's Office in a social media post. According to a WTWO reporter on the scene, Honey Creek Fire Department, law enforcement and ambulance personnel are on scene.
