Two women hospitalized after crash with dump truck near Bondurant
BONDURANT, Iowa -- Two people were seriously injured Sunday during a collision involving a dump truck outside of Bondurant. The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the collision, which involved a dump truck and a car, occurred around 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of NE 56th Street and NE 94th Avenue, northwest of Bondurant. Authorities say the dump truck was occupied by an adult male, who was not injured during the crash. The car was occupied by two adult females. The sheriff's office says the driver of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported by helicopter to a local hospital with serious injuries. The car's passenger also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The Polk County SO says this is an ongoing investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.
