Two-vehicle accident in Rome leaves one dead
ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A two-vehicle accident in the city of Rome late Thursday night has left one person dead, and Rome Police are asking for the public's help. Officers were called to the 500 block of East Bloomfield Street at approximately 8:25 pm on Thursday, March 12. Police say the accident involved a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist -- later identified as 45-year-old Christopher Hildebrandt of Rome was transported to Rome Health for serious injuries. Hildebrandt later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The two people in the SUV were not injured. The accident is being investigated by the Rome Police Department's Accident Reconstruction Unit. Police are asking anyone with any information or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Rome Police Department at 315-339-7744.
