Two Titusville cops hurt in crash en route to gun incident
Two Titusville Police Department officers were hurt in an accident while en route to a gun call on Monday. The crash occurred on Hopkins Avenue near Acorn Avenue. The officers were responding to a report of a woman allegedly showing a gun to another person in a retail store parking lot. It was mentioned that one suspect had fled, prompting a police officer to turn around to pursue them. Unfortunately, the patrol car following her hit the side of her vehicle before crashing into trees. One officer was airlifted to a trauma center, while the other was taken to a local hospital. Both officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Titusville PD recommends avoiding S Hopkins Avenue between Birch Street and Pritchard Street. Additional updates will be provided as the situation progresses.
