Two semi trucks ‘fully engulfed’ by fire after I-74 crash near Oakwood
OAKWOOD, Ill. (WCIA) -- Drivers are being asked to take a different route after two semi trucks crashed and became "fully engulfed" in flames on Interstate 74 in Oakwood Sunday afternoon. In an email sent to WCIA, Illinois State Police confirmed the eastbound lanes of I-74 are being diverted onto U.S. Route 150 at exit 206. The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. According to State Police, one of the drivers was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries, but is expected to be okay. Anyone traveling through the area is asked to drive with caution and find an alternate route. At this time it is unclear how exactly the crash happened and how long the detour will need to be in place. No further information is available.
