Two people killed in Henry County crash; surviving dog in the care of animal control
Virginia State Police is investigating a crash that killed two people in Henry County on Thursday. The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on June 18 on Horsepasture Price Road. SEE ALSO: Danville woman, two teens charged following assault that was caught on video VSP said a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling on the road when the driver crossed the center line and hit an oncoming Mack dump truck head-on. The driver of the Volkswagen, 47-year-old Mark Hensley of Ridgeway, died at the scene. His passenger, 39-year-old Amy Hand, of North Carolina, also died at the scene. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. A dog was also in the car at the time of the crash and survived. It was taken into the care of the Henry County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Division. VSP said the driver of the dump truck was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
