Two killed, juvenile injured in head-on crash: OSHP

NORTH CANTON, Ohio (WJW) -- Two drivers were killed Saturday morning after a head-on crash in Perry Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 7:15 a.m. on US Route 62 near mile post 11. Investigators said a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Cole Scholey of Beach City, Ohio, went left of center and hit a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Kelly Kemp of Massillon, Ohio, head-on. Both drivers were unresponsive when first responders arrived at the scene. According to the OSHP, Kemp died at the scene. Scholey was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. A juvenile who was a passenger in Kemp's vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries, investigators said. Neither Scholey nor Kemp was wearing a seat belt, according to OSHP. Speed is suspected as a factor in the crash. It remains under investigation at this time.
