Two Fredericksburg drivers dead, another injured after three-vehicle crash on I-95 in Caroline

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Fredericksburg drivers are dead and another driver was injured after a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Caroline County on Saturday. At around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, Virginia State Police troopers were called to a three-vehicle crash on I-95 North at mile marker 115, near the Ladysmith Road exit. State police said a preliminary investigation indicates that 59-year-old Delores Virginia Parker of Fredericksburg was driving a 2009 GMC Yukon when it drove onto the left shoulder. It then entered the median and crossed back into the northbound lanes, where it hit a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 59-year-old Shelly Sutton Owens of Fredericksburg. Parker and Owens died as a result of their injuries. As a result of the impact, police said the Jeep overturned. A 2025 Jeep Wrangler was also hit and stopped in the center lane. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
