Two dead in base jumping accident near Moab
MOAB, Utah (ABC4) — Two people were killed base jumping near Moab on Sunday, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office. On June 14, the sheriff's office received a report of a base jumping incident in Mineral Bottom, a remote canyon along Green River located about 30 miles northwest of Moab. The first individual is identified as a 50-year-old man. He died on scene. The second individual is identified as Andrew (Andy) Lewis, of Moab. "The Grand County Sheriff's Office extends its deepest sympathies to the families, friends, and all those affected by this tragic incident," a press release states. No further information is available at this time.
