Two dead after head-on semi-truck crash north of Killdeer
KILLDEER, ND (KXNET) — Two men have died after a head-on crash between a semi-truck and a tractor trailer about 17 miles north of Killdeer. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Thursday morning at 5:45 a.m. MT, a 2020 Volvo Tractor Trailer was hauling production water was heading south on ND Highway 22. At the same time, a 2019 Kenworth was pulling a pup trailer north on the highway. The Volvo reportedly crossed the center line while maneuvering a curve and collided head-on with the Kenworth. Both drivers, a 57-year-old man from Watford City, and a 51-year-old man from Dickinson, died at the scene. A small amount of production water was released. Highway 22 northbound was closed from mile marker 119-130 until 3 p.m. The NDHP is continuing to investigate the crash.
