Turlock woman dies after being thrown from vehicle
On Monday evening in Winton, a tragic rollover crash resulted in the death of a 41-year-old woman after her vehicle left the road and crashed into a canal. The incident, which occurred around 7:44 p.m., involved the woman driving a 2002 Ford Ranger on Meadow Drive. The vehicle first veered onto the dirt shoulder before overcorrecting and ultimately landing in the dry canal along the south shoulder. The impact caused the truck to overturn, ejecting the driver who was later pronounced dead by emergency responders. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash, and it is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
