Truck driver arrested following fatal multi-car collision
A box truck driver has been taken into custody following a fatal multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 25, as stated in a press release by the Colorado State Patrol. Initial investigations revealed that a box truck, a Lexus GX, a Kia Telluride, and a Chevrolet Silverado were all heading northbound near milepost 259 at the time of the accident. The incident, first reported as a subsequent collision from a medical emergency, occurred when the box truck, occupying the middle lane, shifted into the lane of the Lexus, initiating a chain reaction involving the Kia and the Chevrolet. Tragically, a child in the Lexus lost their life, while two adults and another minor sustained severe injuries and were transported to the hospital. The box truck driver, named Jose Salazar, 35, is facing charges related to the crash. Authorities are actively looking into the incident, and further details, including the victim's identity, will be disclosed by the Larimer County Coroner.
