Truck collision spills pasta sauce and meat on I-35 in Franklin County
In Franklin County, Kansas, two semi truck drivers were involved in a late-night crash on southbound I-35 near the I-35/U.S. 59 interchange, south of Ottawa. The accident occurred just after 11 p.m. and resulted in minor injuries for both drivers. The first semi swerved onto the shoulder, hit the guardrail, and stalled in the middle of the road before being struck by a second semi traveling in the same direction. The trucks were carrying pasta sauce and meat, which spilled onto the highway and caused a cleanup effort lasting over 13 hours. Despite the extent of the crash, only minor injuries were reported.
