One Killed, One Injured in Northern Wisconsin ATV, UTV Crash
DOUGLAS COUNTY — One person died, and another was injured in a head-on collision involving an ATV and a UTV in the Town of Gordon on Saturday afternoon, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. PRESS RELEASE One person was killed Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2026, when an ATV and a UTV crashed head-on in the town of Gordon. The crash was reported to Douglas County 911 at 2:36 pm on Cabin Lane, about half a mile west of CTH Y. The victim, identified as Ross Frederickson, 71, of Eagan, MN, operating an ATV, was leading a group westbound on Cabin Lane when they encountered an eastbound group. Brandon Lejune, 38, Wascott, operating a side-by-side UTV, was in the process of passing a member of his eastbound group and collided head-on with Frederickson. Frederickson was thrown from his ATV. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Lejune claimed no injury; a 42 yr old female passenger of his was transported to a local hospital with a head injury. The crash is under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the WI DNR.
