Tractor-trailer overturned in 2-car crash on Route 283 in Lancaster County
Several emergency crews were called to a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on U.S. Route 283 heading east near Church Street, according to dispatch. The call of a reported crash with entrapment came in around 5:54 a.m., and by the time first responders arrived at the scene, dispatch said everyone was out of their vehicles. A tractor-trailer was seen at the scene flipped over on its back, according to a photo shared from Hempfield Fire Department . EMS was confirmed to have been called to the scene, but the extent of any injuries is not known. Traffic continues to get backed up beyond the Spooky Nook Road exit heading toward Mount Joy, according to 511PA. The fire department confirmed Route 283 eastbound will be reduced to one lane for an extended amount of time. East Hempfield Township police are investigating the crash. This is a developing story.
