Three killed in plane crash near Saranac Lake
A pilot and two passengers died in a plane crash near Adirondack Regional Airport in Harrietstown Monday night, according to an accident report by the FAA. State police reported that the 1976 Piper Aerostar aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff around 10:30 p.m. They said the plane was about 100 feet from the ground when communications with the pilot stopped. Officials said the impact of the crash and the fire that followed destroyed the plane. The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.
