3 people injured in Penfield crash
Penfield, N.Y. — Two people were injured in a crash Tuesday at the intersection of Plank and Five Mile Line roads, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to the scene at 11:27 a.m. for a report of a three-vehicle crash with injuries. Deputy David Marcucci said a westbound SUV failed to stop at a red light and collided with a southbound SUV before striking an eastbound tow truck that was stopped in traffic. The driver of the westbound SUV was hospitalized with a serious lower leg injury, while the southbound SUV driver and passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries and the tow truck driver was not injured, according to Marcucci. The damaged SUVs were towed from the scene, while the tow truck was able to be driven away. Marcucci said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. Plank Road was closed between Hatch and State roads but has since reopened. No further information has been released.
