Third fatality confirmed in intentional 12-vehicle crash in Las Vegas

A recent update from the Clark County Coroner's Office reveals that a third individual has passed away as a result of the 12-car crash at Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard that occurred last month. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Vanessa Lainez Vasquez, who sustained critical injuries during the incident. Lainez worked as a team member at Shang Artisan Noodle, where her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and kind individual. She had been married for just nine months prior to the tragic accident. The suspect in the crash, 19-year-old Jose Gutierrez, is facing 10 felony charges, including open murder, for allegedly intentionally speeding at nearly 100 mph into a line of cars on November 18th. Initially, the crash claimed the lives of Edward Garcia and Adilene Duran-Rincon, who was Gutierrez's girlfriend and passenger. Duran-Rincon was pregnant at the time, according to her family. Gutierrez was denied bail by Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Joe Bonaventure, following a criminal complaint that suggested he was trying to harm his girlfriend. Gutierrez's defense attorney argued that he was experiencing a concussion and seizures. News sources are looking into whether Gutierrez will face additional charges following Lainez's passing. Gutierrez is scheduled to appear in court again on December 9th.
