Tesla smashes through fence into Clairemont home after striking vehicle at intersection
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A Tesla crashed into a home Thursday morning, after colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Diane Avenue and Chateau Drive in the Clairemont neighborhood. The crash happened around 11 a.m. as police and first responders blocked the road after a Tesla crashed through a fence and backyard canopy and drove into the side of a home in the 4600 block of Chateau Drive. San Diego Fire and Rescue transported six people to the hospital as a result of the crash, including one child. Two of the people had major injuries, while the remaining four suffered from minor injuries, according to the agency. Law enforcement told FOX 5/KUSI that, according to initial reports, both vehicles were traveling southbound on Diane Avenue, and authorities are investigating how the vehicles collided. Surveillance footage of the crash shows the two cars crashing at the intersection. The San Diego Police Department is investigating what led to the crash and if speed was a factor.
