Teenager killed in ATV crash in Acadia Parish
CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) -- A crash involving an ATV left a teenager dead in Acadia Parish, according to Louisiana State Police. The crash happened around 8 p.m. near La Hwy 95 near Wikoff Cove Dr., authorities said. Hayden Castille, 17, of Branch was riding a 2005 Honda ATV northbound on LA Hwy 95 at the time of the crash, when a 2008 Audi, also traveling north, approached the ATV from behind and struck the rear of the vehicle, authorities said. The impact caused the ATV to overturn, ejecting Castille, The ATV did not have lights illuminated at the time of the crash, authorities said. Castille sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis, as is standard procedure in fatal crashes. The crash remains under investigation.
