Teen in Belvidere may receive prison sentence for deadly DUI accident
A 19-year-old man from Belvidere in Boone County, Illinois, is facing serious charges after a tragic drunk driving accident resulted in the death of another driver. The incident occurred at Olson Road and Sheffield on January 10. The Boone County Sheriff's Office reported that the young man, Trevor Tosh, was driving a Jeep Cherokee when he crossed into oncoming traffic, fatally hitting pedestrian Anthony Tzemopoulos, 41, of Belvidere. Tzemopoulos passed away at the scene, while Tosh sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. Tosh has since been charged with aggravated DUI causing death and DUI, carrying a potential sentence of up to 14 years in prison. He is currently held in custody at the Boone County Jail.
