Teen from Georgia dies in Thanksgiving accident; DUI manslaughter charged to Florida man: FHP

A 44-year-old man from Florida is being charged with DUI manslaughter following a tragic crash on Thursday night that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman from Georgia, as well as serious injuries to other individuals, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The incident involved a collision between a 2004 Acura MDX and a stationary 2025 Hyundai Tucson, which led to the Tucson rolling over and impacting a pickup truck near State Road 538 (Poinciana Parkway) and Sienna Blvd late Thursday night. The driver of the Acura, Eddie Edmond, suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the Hyundai and its five passengers, including the 18-year-old victim, were hospitalized with serious injuries. Sadly, the young woman from Stockbridge, Georgia, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The FHP is still investigating the crash, and further details about the passengers' conditions are pending confirmation as well. The driver of the pickup truck involved in the collision was fortunately unharmed.
