Teen driver killed in two-vehicle crash in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said a teen driver was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash. The sheriff's office told FOX 56 that deputies received multiple calls around 9:49 p.m. May 22 to a serious-injury crash at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Ashe Road. A preliminary investigation suggests that the teen driver was making a left turn onto U.S. 127 when she crashed into a pickup truck. She was trapped inside her vehicle, and the Lincoln County Fire Department extricated her from the vehicle. Despite efforts from the crews and EMS, the Lincoln County Coroner's Office pronounced her dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials said the investigation is ongoing, but they do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
