Tarpon Springs hit-and-run crash: suspect arrested: TSPD
The Tarpon Springs Police Department has arrested a 23-year-old driver who reportedly left the scene of a crash that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries Wednesday evening.According to investigators, the crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. along northbound U.S. 19 near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.Police say the crash involved a motorcycle and a newer-model Hyundai Sonata four-door sedan.The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized as a trauma alert, according to police.The sedan driver, 23-year-old Tarrin Gold of Oldsmar, was taken into custody after he fled the scene. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Gold was previously arrested in December 2025 for driving under the influence.Police say Gold's vehicle was captured on video as it fled from officers shortly after the crash.Gold has been charged with the following:TSPD thanked the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in finding the suspect.
