Suspected hit-and-run crash in Mass. city injures one
One person was rushed to the hospital after a suspected hit-and-run crash in Newton, Massachusetts, on Tuesday afternoon.Newton police said they received a call for a report of a car crashing into a tree at the intersection of Walnut Street and Judith Road around 4:30 p.m.Responding officers found a black sedan with heavy front end damage and a person who had sustained serious injuries.That person was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.Police tell NewsCenter 5 the crash is believed to be the result of a hit-and-run.Walnut Street remains closed from Homer Street to Beacon Street.Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Newton Police Traffic Bureau at 617-796-2105.No further information was immediately available.
