Suspect named, charged in Pierce Street crash killing
Houston police have identified the suspect involved in a tragic incident where a woman was struck by a vehicle as she was walking outside a bar in South Central Houston. The suspect, Enrique Acevedo Barocio, 27, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following the fatal crash near Pierce and St. Charles Street. Officers were called to the scene at 11:30 p.m. and discovered that a blue Ford Expedition was speeding eastbound on Pierce, hitting the woman and several parked vehicles. The victim, a 32-year-old woman, tragically died at the scene. Barocio, who displayed signs of intoxication, was apprehended and subsequently charged by the Harris County District Office.
