Suspect in court for murder charge following fleeing from sexual assault.
A man accused of causing a fatal crash where two teenagers were killed after fleeing the scene of a sexual assault and hitting the victim with a car has appeared in court in Saratoga Springs, Utah. The 21-year-old, Jose Angel Torres Jimenez, faces multiple charges including murder, sexual abuse, assault, DUI, and violating his learner's permit. During the court appearance, he had his charges and rights read to him, and his next court hearing is set for December 19. A protective order was also granted for the victim of the alleged sexual assault. The incident involved Torres Jimenez hitting a 17-year-old before fleeing and causing a crash that resulted in the deaths of two teenagers. Law enforcement found him to be impaired at the time of the crash with a high blood alcohol level and driving at high speeds. Torres Jimenez is currently in custody at the Salt Lake County Jail.
