Thomasville teen killed in crash involving tractor-trailer on US 64, troopers say
THOMASVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) -- A 19-year-old died on Sunday night after a crash in Thomasville with a tractor-trailer, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. At 11:18 p.m., troopers responded to a fatal crash on US 64 near Roger Jennings Lane involving a tractor-trailer and an SUV. Investigators determined a Volvo tractor-trailer was going east on US 64, tried to back into a private driveway and covered both lanes while doing so. A Subaru SUV was going west on US 64 and hit the trailer in the road. The Subaru driver, Mason James Wisdom, 19, of Thomasville, was pronounced dead on the scene. The tractor-trailer driver, Jeffery Dean Raybon, 58, of Thomasville, has pending charges in connection to the fatal crash. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
