The Surprise Police recently utilized an iPhone's automatic crash detection feature to swiftly locate a fatal car accident in a remote area early one Monday morning. The incident was brought to their attention through a notification on the iPhone at 2:30 a.m., which indicated a severe crash. By tracking the phone's location ping, officers were able to locate the scene at 211th Avenue and Sun Valley Parkway, where a male had been ejected from the vehicle and was found deceased. The Police spokesperson, Christopher Thomas, emphasized the importance of this technology in leading first responders to the location, especially in cases like this one where the vehicle was concealed by brush.
