Students injured in Madison County school bus crash

A school bus collision involving three vehicles occurred in Madison County, resulting in minor injuries to several students on Monday morning. The accident took place on Caleast Road when the bus hit a vehicle in the same direction before colliding head-on with an SUV. The bus was carrying 24 students to Madison Southern High School and Farristown Middle School at the time of the incident. Emergency services responded, and five students were taken to Baptist Health Richmond for evaluation, while one student was taken by a parent to a local hospital. All injuries were minor. Two individuals in the SUV also suffered minor injuries. The remaining students on the bus were safely transported to their schools. The Madison County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident, which was not weather-related. A school official expressed gratitude for the lack of serious injuries and thanked the emergency responders for their assistance.
