Spearman school van involved in accident near Dallas-Fort Worth area
Update 5:39 p.m. SPEARMAN, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — According to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety, the wreck happened at around 2:23 p.m. A preliminary report from Texas DPS said the Spearman ISD vehicle was going west on FM 8 when it disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with TX 16. A vehicle going north on TX 16, a Honda Accord, hit the district vehicle. DPS said the driver of the Honda was taken to a hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries. Students and the driver of the district vehicle were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. Original Story SPEARMAN, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A Spearman Independent School District vehicle was involved in a vehicle incident in a town near the Dallas-Fort Worth area. According to Spearman ISD officials, the van was involved in an accident in Desdemona in Eastland County. Officials reported that all student passengers and the driver of the vehicle are not injured; however, all students are being medically evaluated out of caution. Spearman ISD noted that parents have been notified, and the Spearman ISD Superintendent is picking up the students and staff member to transport home.
