SPD: Driver seriously injured, passenger killed in crash on Respass Beach Road
SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- A passenger was killed and a driver was seriously injured following an overnight single-vehicle crash on Respass Beach Road, according to Suffolk Police. Officers responded to a single-vehicle auto accident in the 6800 block of Respass Beach Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle that was occupied by two men. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say the roadway was shut down for approximately three hours but has since reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
