Southbound lanes of US 183 reopen after traffic fatality
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 183 from Capitol Texas Highway to Burnet Road have reopened after law enforcement worked a fatal crash on Sunday night, according to the Austin Police Department. The crash happened at 10:20 p.m. in the 9200 block of Research Blvd. Austin Police said parts of the highway were "completely shut down" due to a traffic death. Lanes reopened shortly after midnight, according to APD. It's unclear what caused the crash at this time.
