Sheriff investigates fatal crash in Mercer County, Ohio
MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) - The Mercer County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday evening. At 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Mercer County Central Dispatch received a call reporting a crash involving one car on SR 219 at Hillside Court in Franklin Township. Upon initial investigation, the driver, Jillian Geyer, 41, of Celina, Ohio, was heading north on SR 219 when, for an unknown reason, she veered left over the center line and off the roadway, striking a tree. Geyer was pronounced dead on scene. First responders on the run included members of the Montezuma Fire Department, Coldwater Squad 7, and the Mercer County Coroner, Alyssa Tobe. The crash remains under investigation.
