Semi truck rollover shuts down multiple lanes on I-5 near Camp Pendleton
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A big rig rollover crash on Interstate 5 near the Aliso Creek Rest Area is causing major traffic disruptions, prompting multiple lane closures in both directions, according to authorities. California Highway Patrol issued an Sig Alert around 4:29 a.m., later announcing on social media that the right three lanes on southbound I-5 and far right lane on northbound I-5 would remain closed until approximately noon. CHP confirmed the crash involved a rolled-over semi truck. “SB I-5 at the Aliso Creek Rest Area remains impacted following a big rig rollover collision,” CHP stated. Crews are working to clear the scene. Drivers traveling through North County on I-5 should expect significant delays throughout the morning commute and seek alternate routes if possible. Authorities have not released information regarding injuries or what may have caused the rollover crash.
