Schenectady man admits to manslaughter in fatal crash
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady man confessed to causing a man's death last fall in a Colonie crash. The Albany County District Attorney's Office said Anthony Peterson pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter on Monday. Police responded to New Karner Road for a two-car crash on September 16, around 7 a.m. Through his guilty plea, Peterson admitted to crossing the double yellow line before hitting William Merrihew, 64, of Albany, head-on. Peterson and Merrihew were transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment, and Merrihew died from his injuries two weeks after the crash. Peterson is scheduled to be sentenced to six to 12 years in prison on June 17.
