Roswell Police investigating fatal crash
A teenager has died after a fatal car crash in Roswell that has sent six people to the hospital. According to officers, around 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, a Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on North Union Avenue when the driver apparently lost control.The Accord struck a GMC Yukon SUV nearly head-on as the Yukon was traveling northbound on Union Avenue near the intersection with West 19th Street.In the Accord were two girls ages 15, 16, and two 17-year-old boys. One of the 17-year-old boys was said to have been one of the drivers of the car. The two boys were transported to a local hospital and then a hospital elsewhere for further treatment of severe injuries. The 15-year-old girl was treated at a local hospital and then transported to another hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and was expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday night. The 16-year-old girl passed away after being transported to a local hospital.Police say the Yukon was driven by a 56-year-old woman from Roswell whose 11-year-old daughter was also in the car. They were both taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening-injuries and released.This is an ongoing investigation, and police say charges are pending while the investigation continues.
