Rollover crash nearly shuts down all lanes on Loop 410 in San Antonio

Rush hour traffic will be moving especially slowly for Loop 410 drivers on either the east or west end of San Antonio on Wednesday, May 6. First responders are on the scene of two wrecks that have shuttered the main lanes of the busy highway loop, pushing drivers off to the shoulder in a single file. The San Antonio Fire Department is reporting units on site at a rollover crash along the Loop 410 access road. On the Texas Department of Transportation website, a crash is shown near the intersection with Rigsby Avenue on the Eastside of the Alamo City. Red lines marking signs of heavy traffic delays stretch for miles along both the highway and Rigsby. All the way across town, on the Westside of San Antonio, drivers heading home after the workday or from picking up the kids from school are lined up along Loop 410 waiting for a crash scene to clear. South of Highway 90, close to where 410 meets Valley Hi Drive, a crash was reported at around 3:22 p.m. A TxDOT collision notice shows, again, drivers are being directed off the main lanes of the highway and onto a single shoulder. Live cameras near the scene show bumper-to-bumper traffic lining the heavily trafficked San Antonio loop. While crews are on site working to clear the wreckage, the impact on evening traffic on Wednesday will likely last for hours as drivers flock to the roads after clocking out.
